About Banbury Cross Health Centre
Banbury Cross Health Centre was established in September 2019. We have two locations in Banbury town centre at South Bar House and Bridge Street. Due to COVID our Bridge Street Surgery is temporarily closed. All services are carried out at South Bar House, 6 Oxford Road, Banbury OX169AD.
Banbury Cross Health Centre was launched following the merger of West Bar Surgery and Banbury Health Centre – a move which enables a greater range of patient services and more opportunities for expansion, while at the same time improving efficiency by consolidating back office and support functions.
We have 40,000 registered patients and employ over 200 staff including GPs, nurses, physios, other health professionals and administrative staff. We are proud to be a training practice, helping qualified doctors, known as Registrars, complete the final stages of their GP training.
Banbury Cross Health Centre is involved in supporting primary care research. We believe it is important to participate in research projects so that we can help to develop new and more effective ways of diagnosing and treating diseases. We are pleased to give our patients the opportunity to take part in these studies, many of which involve tests and treatments which we would not otherwise be able to offer. The practice is actively involved in national studies which are organised by study teams at universities, charities and other research institutions. Find out more here:-
