Minutes from the last Meeting

Minutes - of the June 2025 meeting were approved unanimously

 

Matters Arising

  • JR - The table with the sale of cake and Royal British items on the 27th June for Armed Forces Day, raised £113.34 for the Poppy Appeal. Thank you to all the Staff and Patients who supported this event. JR and two Royal British Legion members supported the event.
 

Staffing

  1. New Doctor started 2 weeks ago.
  2. A recently trained GP is joining the team in September.
  3. Three Doctors are leaving for jobs abroad.
  4. 6 Doctors are being interviewed. 
  5. The Deputy Lead Nurse is leaving /moving out of the area.
  6. Nurses and HCAs are being recruited.
 

Complaints, Compliments and Feed

  • 24 complaints.
  • National Patient Survey – Results have improved, this is sent to 746 patients who have had an appointment/treatment in the last year, 180 responded.
  • Telephone time is approximately 8 minutes wait – performance has improved. 
  • 500 people responded to the PPG feedback survey.
  • NHS Choices no longer available.
 

Day and time of future meetings

  • Agreed on a trial basis to change the time of the meeting to 5pm and move the meeting to Tuesday to accommodate members and attending staff on different days of the week.
 

Constitution 

  • Next meeting the Constitution is to be discussed and amended as necessary.
  • It is a contractual requirement for all Practices to have a PPG (Patient Participation Group) 
  • The Constitution is to be sent out to all members.
 

Any other Business

  1. The website is to be updated – common actions will be shown on the front page e.g. book an appointment.
  2. Macmillan Cancer Support coffee morning will be held on Fridy 26th September at BCHC, further information to follow.
  3. JR reported that the response from online form had been very good, with a response within a short time and an appropriate appointment being offered with a very thorough ANP (Advanced Nurse Practitioner.)
  4. There was a question from JN with regard to the room on the ground floor being used for consultations for people who struggle to use the lift and have difficulty climbing the stairs – this is still available to use.
