PPG Minutes of 15th May 2025 Meeting

Minutes from the last Meeting
Minutes - of the April 2025 meeting were approved unanimously
Matters Arising
- Armed Forces Day is on the 28h June and there will be a stall with cakes and coffee/tea. Catherine has spoken to the British Legion to ask if they can attend with information.
- The Patient survey is being handed out to Patients, as of 14th May there have been 180 responses. The PPG helped design a local survey to gather specific information around access as this was an area highlighted in the National GP survey as an area for improvement.
Staffing
- Three new Doctors have been recruited, one is a 4 session GP, an existing trainee is joining the team for 6 sessions.
- Health Care Assistants are being recruited as a couple of them have left.
- Two new Pharmacists will be joining in August.
- Administration Team – 2 members of team have left and have been replaced.
- Call handlers have been recruited.
- There are 27 Doctors = 150 sessions a week.
- For retention of Staff circumstances have to be right.
Complaints, Compliments and Feed
- 29 complaints were received in April.
- 10 thousand people had their telephone calls answered in April.
- Trying to improve Patient flow.
- Monthly statistics sheet is posted on website and social media.
- The website is to be updated, A new Digital lead will be dealing with this.
- 93% of calls were answered and average waiting time for the call to be answered last month was8 minutes 15 seconds.
Jaz Kundi - Healthwatch Oxfordshire
- Give language support for GP’s – Staff Info on website.
- Patient Voices about PPG’s (what you can do at your Practice.)
- Oxfordshire Autism strategy, the10 year plan will be out soon.
- Looking at Mental Health and Alzheimer’s - information out in next few months.
- Kevin commented – The PPG here is very good and does a lot for the Practice.
- In reply to a question by PM - Kevin replied How you want to manage the PPG is up to the PPG as a group.
- BOB ICB (Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire Integrated Care Board) there is a talk for PPG’s and Jaz will send a link.
- Download toolkit and share good practice with other PPG’s.68 in Oxfordshire
AOB
- Prospective new member Nigel to be invited to the next meeting.
- PC – Language support is given, Support for the deaf/hard of hearing is needed as this is a very overlooked group. Kevin will speak to James to see how this is being managed.
