PPG Minutes of 17th April 2025 Meeting

Minutes from the last Meeting
Minutes - of the March 2025 meeting were approved unanimously.
Matters Arising
- Veterans now on the list since the message was sent to existing patients has risen from 121 to 400.
Staffing
- Two new doctors commence employment late June/early July, one is current Trainee GP.
- Recruiting HCA and phlebotomist.
- Nurse manager is running a really good team and a new nurse has been recruited
Complaints, Compliments and Feedback
- Positive feedback 89%
- 20 complaints over the last month – March/April
- There were 10 thousand appointments – 11 thousand phone calls.
PPG Week
- 2nd June – 6th June – Stall with information, to help recruitment.
- Maybe a stall for Parkinsons/Diabetes.
Any other Business
- Patient Survey – Formatted, added option of booking via self-book link.
- Questionnaire to be sent out to the 400 veterans to ask what the surgery can do that would benefit them.
- Armed Forces day is on the 28th June, the surgery is going to do something either side of this and it was suggested the British Legion could be here for information.
- The diabetes service at the surgery is excellent, providing information – team consists of lead diabetes nurse, HCAs, further nurses and pharmacist trained in diabetes, GP lead
- Appointments call back, telephone performance = average answer time was 33 minutes 12 months ago. March call back time was approx. 16 minutes, this month so far = 6 minutes. Review to see if callback is working adequately.
- Other Practices use out of hours more than BCHC.
- Interpreter service is used to interpret different languages for patients.
- There are 57 Clinical rooms.
- Re – Patient capacity – If this got too high the managers would talk to ICB (Integrated Care Board)
The next meeting will be held on Thursday 15th May 2025 at 6pm Education room BCHC.
