The government is asking everyone to be aware that there are a number of scams where people are being contacted about COVID testing and vaccinations. Criminals are using the #COVIDvaccine to trick people into handing over cash or financial details.
If you are a Banbury Cross Health Centre patient we will contact you directly when it’s your turn to be vaccinated. We will do this by phone, text or email. If we can’t get hold of you, we will leave a message for you to get back to us to arrange an appointment.
Be aware of Text Messages where you are asked to press a number on your kepypad, this could result in large charges being applied to your bill.
Dont engage with callers offering a vacine for free or asking for bank details.
Be careful about accessing COVID related information on websites that look like the NHS but ask for personal information.
Do not engage with anyone who calls unnanounced at your home and offers you a vacine.
We are pleased to report that we are completing the vaccinations of our most vulnerable patient groups which are: Residents in a care home for older adults, and their carers, and those 80 years of age and over, and frontline health and social care workers. We will keep you informed as to how we are progressing through the priority groups.
If you have information relating to vaccine fraud, you can report any issues to covidfraudhotline.org or phone 0800 587 5030.
