Good Morning, Happy Monday.
We have COVID clinics this week, so there will be a lot of people coming into South Bar House. To coincide with this we have road works taking place in the immediate area surrounding the surgery. The end of New Road will be blocked off, but it will still be open so that patients will be able to access our car park. We advise patients not to park on the yellow lines, as they risk receiving a penalty notice. The works will be on-going for two weeks, so we ask that visitors give themselves plenty of time and find alternative parking near to the practice and save our car parking spaces for patients with mobility issues. There is usually plenty of parking on South Bar Street, Calthorpe Street and in the TKMaxx car park.
We have tried to contact everyone in cohorts 1 – 4 several times. If you have changed your mind or not received any of our communications, then please let us know.
We are now vaccinating Cohorts 5 (65 and over) and Cohort 6 (18+ clinically vulnerable) and have send some invitations for Cohort 7 (60 and over). Second doses have not arrived yet, but will do shortly and we will be in touch to make appointments.
We have been sending text messages to patients regarding vaccinations. This is a quick and easy way to book a slot as they contain a link to book an appointment. If you don’t have a smartphone, don’t worry as we will call you.
NHS England will be sending letters to everyone in Cohort 8 (56 – 59) to prepare everyone for future vaccinations. They are also be texting everyone in Cohort 6 who hasn’t yet been vaccinated and offering appointments at mass vaccination centres.
Please do not contact us about COVID vaccinations, unless we have asked you to do so. We will contact you as we work through our lists.
This week is Nutrition and Hydration Week, which is all about helping people to understand the health benefits of food and liquids. To find out more: https://nutritionandhydrationweek.co.uk/
Our phone lines are still very busy, so the best way to get in touch is online via eConsult, PatientAccess and NHSApp. This frees up the phones for people who don’t have online access or have no other choice but to call us.
Have great week, keep healthy and stay safe!
