Important announcement from BCHC GP’s
Now that restrictions are easing, we are all enjoying more freedom and finally managing to physically meet up with friends and loved ones. An unfortunate side effect of this is that many of us are now catching ‘normal’ bugs, which we have all been avoiding due to lockdown. As a result of this, the demand for appointments is currently exceptionally high.
We are reviewing how we can change things to meet this demand and we will communicate further on this next week.
In the meantime we are asking you to help us to help you by following the guidance below:-
- Please consider if your request for an appointment is urgent
If your enquiry is something that can wait, a pharmacist can assist with or you are able to manage yourself - we kindly ask that you postpone calling us at this time. Please see https://www.nhs.uk/ for guidance on health and wellbeing, including what to do and when to get help.
- Please do not ring the surgery for anything other than an urgent on the day appointment in the morning
To book a blood test, for test results or for any other admin related queries (such as sick notes) please do not call us until after 14:00. This will help us keep our phone lines free for those who need us most.
We are working hard to continue to provide the best service possible and make any necessary changes to respond to demand. We are grateful to all our patients for their assistance with this and extend our thanks to you all for your patience and understanding.
A further communication regarding appointments will be made next week.
