Patient Participation Group (PPG)

You may have noticed or heard people talk about the PPG and wondered what it is or what’s it got to do with me.

Well, it really has got a lot to do with you.

What is it?

It is a group of people who are patients of the surgery and want to help it work as well as it can for patients, doctors, and staff. The NHS requires every practice to have one, so it is official and important.

This practice does have an active PPG, but we are looking for a few more people so that it is more representative of the patients.

  • Your experience matters and you can bring different ideas to help us treat patients better or improve the way we do things.
  • You will also gain a better understanding of the NHS and the way the practice operates.
  • Your views are important and will be listened to.
  • All patients’ views will be discussed and where appropriate we will work together on solutions.

The PPG is an essential interface between the practice and the patients and provides an opportunity for a two-way flow of information. Membership is not too onerous; we meet for about an hour a month usually at 6:00pm on the 3rd Thursday of the month at the surgery.
